Privacy policy
Nudge is a blind-first iOS planner app built by Adam Garceau as an independent developer. This policy explains what information Nudge handles, why, and your rights.
Summary
- No account, no tracking, no analytics.
- Your notes, events, goals, projects, and journal entries live on your device and — if you enable iCloud — in your own private iCloud container. We never see them.
- If you turn on the optional AI voice assistant, transcripts and a small profile snippet are sent to Anthropic (Claude) or another provider of your choice, using your own API key. We don't route these requests through our servers.
- No sale of data. No cross-context advertising. No third-party SDKs that collect behavior.
Data Nudge handles
Stored on your device (and your iCloud, if enabled)
- Planner content — events, tasks, goals, projects, notes, journal entries.
- Voice memos — audio recordings you make when journaling.
- Profile — optional fields like name, pronouns, family context, faith, accessibility needs, occupation, routines, and freeform notes you provide to personalize the AI assistant.
- Preferences — app settings (active domains, voice backend choice, notification preferences).

The AI voice assistant is off by default. To enable it, you must paste your own API key for the provider of your choice. Your API key is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device; it is never sent to us.
What we do NOT do
- We don't operate servers that receive your data.
- We don't maintain user accounts or passwords.
- We don't track your behavior, usage, or device identifiers.
- We don't sell or share your data for advertising.
- We don't embed analytics SDKs, ad SDKs, or attribution SDKs.
- We don't monitor what you dictate, type, or plan.
Your rights
Access and portability
All your content is already on your device — open it, read it, copy it. iCloud-backed content can be downloaded via iCloud.com. A formal export feature is planned for a future release.
Deletion
You can delete individual items inside the app at any time. To delete everything, uninstall Nudge from your device and disable Nudge in your iCloud settings (Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Nudge → off, then delete data). A one-tap "delete all my data" action is planned for a future release.
API key revocation
Revoke your Anthropic, ElevenLabs, or Google API key at any time through each provider's dashboard. Doing so immediately severs the AI backend's ability to read future requests.

Retention
Your data persists on your device (and your iCloud) until you delete it. We don't have your data, so we have nothing to retain or delete on our side.
International transfers
If you enable the AI voice assistant, your selected provider (Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Google) processes your prompts on their infrastructure, which may be in the United States or other regions. See each provider's privacy policy for their data-handling details.
Medical disclaimer
Nudge is not a medical device. Do not record protected health information (PHI) in journal entries or profile fields that would be sent to third-party AI providers. Nudge makes no claims of clinical validity.
AI disclosure
When enabled, the voice assistant is powered by a large language model (Claude, ElevenLabs, or Gemini depending on your choice). It is artificial intelligence, not a human. Responses may be incorrect. Do not rely on the assistant for urgent safety, medical, or financial decisions.
Children
Nudge is rated 12+. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used Nudge, email hello@adamgarceau.com.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when Nudge's data handling changes. The effective date above is authoritative. If the change is material, we'll announce it inside the app and by email to beta members.
